Welcome to Linton, Indiana

Our community has much to offer. Whether you’re starting a business, considering an expansion, looking for a good place to live or a visit, we’re committed to building a business-friendly environment so citizens can take advantage of job opportunities in and around the community.

Linton is my hometown and the hometown of my wife!  It is also the hometown of my two daughters.  We all graduated from Linton-Stockton school.  There is no doubt the citizens of Linton were a big influence on all our lives.  The community of Linton is like many small communities in the Midwest but at the same time unique in the attitude and potential of the citizens who call Linton home.

Sometimes it takes moving away to fully appreciate what Linton has to offer. The outdoorsman has many opportunities to fish and hunt within a short driving distance.  There are also offroad locations for 4 wheeling or hiking that can often prove challenging.  Our school provides the next generation with a foundation for learning (oftentimes not fully appreciate).  Greene County General Hospital provides excellent access to health care and continues to expand services!  It doesn’t take long to greatly appreciate the relatively low cost of living.

These things make Linton a vibrant and proud community.  Engaged citizens are what make Linton unique.  A great place to brag about when referring to a hometown!  You will like Linton!

The Linton City Council is the City's governing body and is composed of five elected members.

Each member represents residents in their district.
