The Linton Gas Utility is a member in the Gas Utilities Alliance. Membership in the alliance consists of approximately 50 Municipal and Investor-owned gas utilities with approximately 70,000 meters in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. The Gas Utilities Alliance was formed to provide liability insurance to its members.
The Linton Gas Department distributes natural gas to approx. 2500 customers, as well as, promote public education and safety of natural gas.
The Linton Water Department pumps approx. one million two hundred thousand gallons on an average day. The Water Department has two water towers located in the city with one of the tanks able to store one million gallons of water and the second approx. five hundred thousand gallons of water.
The water Department services approx. 3000 water customers by treating and distributing water to Linton and surrounding communities.
